Rakesh Bhardwaj has joined mobility platform Ola as Global Chief Information Officer. He will be based out of Bengaluru and will report to the company’s co-founder and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal.Ola is a ride-hailing platform founded by IIT-Mumbai batchmates Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati. The platform connects hundreds of millions of users with over 1.5 million driver-partners across 250 plus cities globally.
In the new role, Bhardwaj will be working closely with businesses and partners, providing strategic direction to Ola’s process and technology initiatives, which will cover the broad spectrum of Information Systems, Tools, Security, IT infrastructure & assets across the group.
Previously, he was SVP & Global CIO at Cognizant and was responsible for IT services for the enterprise domains.
Bhardwaj has over 28 years of professional experience and has worked with companies like Microland Limited, GE Healthcare, and GE Capital in the past.
Bhardwaj holds an Engineering as well as an MBA degree.
