At the upcoming Chillventa (Nürnberg, 11-13 October), CAREL will be presenting an innovative HVAC proposal to guarantee indoor air quality and reduce costs due to sub-optimal system performance.

CAREL@Chillventa for healthy and sustainable environments

Optimal indoor air quality, along with correct temperature and relative humidity conditions, are critical to ensuring health, well-being, and performance during the time people spend inside buildings. And to ensure fresh and clean air, ventilation with outside air plays a crucial role: both the removal of pathogens from indoor spaces and the transmissibility of airborne diseases depend greatly on the humidity level. Indeed, viruses and bacteria spread more easily in dry air, and this can only be overcome by controlling the relative humidity, which should be set between 40 and 60%.

The control systems of air handling units – the heart of ventilation systems – are essential components for controlling and guaranteeing the best indoor air conditions with the lowest energy consumption. To complete its range of solutions for managing ventilation units, at Chillventa CAREL will be presenting µAria. This system, specifically developed for residential environments, offers software features designed and optimised for the most common types of ventilation units on the market. Compatibility with different types of probes and sensors (temperature, humidity, CO2, VOC, etc.) guarantees the possibility to measure values and use them for the required control functions. Furthermore, the NFC and Bluetooth connectivity options make it possible to interact with the controller via the CAREL mobile app, allowing quick and easy access to all the unit parameters for quick and easy commissioning.

Keeping humidity inside the comfort zone (between 40 and 60%) is not always easy and can only be reliably achieved by controlled humidification of the indoor air. To meet these needs, at Chillventa HygroMatik – a CAREL Group company since 2018 – will be proposing FlexLine, a modern generation of steam humidifiers adaptable to several installation needs. Available for all applications, these units are factory-set and thus easy to manage, and are among the leading products in terms of sustainability, due to their recyclable components: the life of the cylinders is extended by the replacement of individual components, most of which consist of recyclable material (stainless steel electrodes).

Finally, to guarantee indoor air quality and ensure a return on the investment in the purchase of the systems, product efficiency needs to be maintained throughout its entire life cycle. The CAREL Group will thus be proposing a complete series of services for its entire range of humidifiers, from life cycle analysis to periodic management of maintenance and expert leading of humidification system configurations. The objective is to maintain the operating performance of the unit over time and increase its working life, through both activities carried out on-site and digital services for remote assistance.

CAREL technologies and expertise in energy recovery systems, humidification solutions, unit control, dampers, and accessories to guarantee both health and safety on one hand, in compliance with the strictest hygiene standards, and increase overall system efficiency on the other, will be presented at the Specialist Air Conditioning & Ventilation & Heat Pumps Forum at Chillventa (11 October, 11.40 am, Hall 4A, Booth 4A-401). Andrea Pagan, CAREL Application Manager for Ventilation and Systems, will explain the advantages of a hygienic, efficient, and intelligent solution for ventilation systems in the era of the “new normal”.
