The Maverick has very few options. It’s available only as a four-door crew cab in XL, XLT, or Lariat trims.

Within those trims, there are no interior choices, including color. But the interior is extremely well thought out and, due to interesting material choices, presents as a much higher-end vehicle than the low price point would lead you to believe.

There are two powertrains: a 191-hp front-drive-only hybrid is the base option, starting at the low, low price of $21,490. A 250-hp turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder is a $1085 upgrade on any trim level, while all-wheel drive is available only with the turbo for another $2220.

The driving experience is an unusual mix of car and truck attributes, as the Maverick is based on the C2 architecture from the Ford Escape and Bronco Sport.
