Aston Martin
The new Vantage F1 Edition has plenty of stickers and stripes to honor Aston Martin’s connections to Formula 1 racing. But its updates over the standard Vantage are more than skin deep, including a more powerful engine, revised suspension tuning, and additional aerodynamic bits.

Inspired by Aston’s new Formula 1 connection, the Vantage F1 Edition brings both visual and dynamic improvements to coupe and roadster models.

Developed alongside the current Vantage Formula 1 safety car, the roadgoing F1 Edition has a similarly vast rear wing and is available in the same green paint that Aston uses for its Formula 1 racers.

The Vantage’s Formula 1 connection is advertised reasonably subtly, with badges on the front fender vents, doorsill protectors, and center console. The full-length racing stripe is optional.

The Vantage F1 Edition gets a revised front grille with full-width horizontal stakes to help break up the black void of the standard Vantage’s snout.

The F1 Edition’s AMG-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 has been boosted to 527 horsepower, up from the regular Vantage’s 503. Torque remains unchanged at 505 pound-feet.

An eight-speed automatic with revised software is the only transmission choice. The F1 Edition will not be offered with the regular Vantage’s six-speed manual.

The F1’s suspension changes include stiffer rear springs, revised adaptive dampers, and updated front-suspension geometry. Its electronic limited-slip differential also has been retuned.

There are fewer changes to the Vantage F1’s cabin, with its black and gray expanses broken up by bright yellow accents. The button-filled lower dashboard is feeling increasingly old by current segment standards, and the central display screen still isn’t touch sensitive.

Aston claims the F1’s vast rear wing and revised underbody aerodynamics contribute up to 330 pounds of downforce at the rear of the car and 110 pounds at the front.

Unique 21-inch wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero summer tires are standard. Carbon-ceramic brakes are optional.

Coupe and roadster versions of the Vantage F1 Edition will be on sale in the United States by the end of the year. Base prices will start at $23,000 above the standard car, which starts at $142,086.
