Venkata Rao Damera has moved on from Emami Ltd where he served a stint of around four years as President-IT. He has now joined Adani Wilmar as Chief Information Officer.Adani Wilmar Limited (AWL) is a joint venture incorporated in January 1999 between Adani Group and Wilmar International Limited – Singapore, Asia’s leading Agribusiness group. It is one of the fastest-growing food FMCG companies in India.
In this new role, Damera will be leading the technology vertical and will strategically manage IT to benefit the business. He is a results-oriented professional with the ability to conceptualise and deliver technology solutions in line with organisational needs.
Damera has over 22 years of experience working in diversified industries and verticals. In his last assignment, he led IT at Kolkata-based Emami Ltd as President-IT. He has also worked with companies like Godfrey Phillips and ITC in the capacity of a CIO. Damera has interests in new-age technologies, digital transformation, shared services model, and more. He has also worked on several innovative projects in these areas.
