Virtual reality, connected sleep monitoring and circadian lighting patterns are among the wellness-enabling IoT technologies offered at the Lake Nona Wave Hotel

Guests staying at a Floridian high-end hotel can enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience with IoT technologies grounded in well being.

Lake Nona Wave Hotel in Orlando, Florida opened Dec 20 and offers visitors a selection of wellness experiences using connected technology and software intelligence for everything from monitoring sleep patterns to adjusting the bed position and room lighting.

The hotel is designed as “the Living Room of Lake Nona.” Dubbed “a smart city with soul,” it offers an extensive roster of technology partners and many first-of-its-kind amenities including View Smart Windows which tint the glass in your guest room as needed, voice-automated in-room controls, Rosie, the hotel’s robot butler and more.

Air filter technology from Healthe is also part of the hotel’s amenities using ultraviolet light that neutralizes any disease pathogens lingering in the air.

The hotel system, dubbed Well+ech by Wave, is currently available in five guest rooms. Virtual reality headsets are also on hand to deliver wellness-themed content, including ambient music and meditation tailored to guest’s mindfulness goals.

“It has been inspiring to see the creativity, innovation and brilliance within our community — particularly as it relates to the quality of our residents’ and guests’ wellbeing,” said Lake Nona Wave Hotel GM Suzie Yang. “In debuting our Well+ech by Wave collection, we hope to seamlessly complement the masterful resources and amenities already accessible to visitors.”

Lake Nona Wave Hotel has 216 guest rooms, two penthouse suites and 16 single bedroom suites.

Guests are promised a whole roster of technology experiences on their stay as well as “transformative” dining and quality art to enrich their vacation or business trip.

Health and wellness already form a key pillar of the hotel’s appeal. Its website promises “inner peace” for guests visiting its spa endorsed by Deepak Chopra.
