You don’t need to be an expert to know that the Ferrari 812 Superfast is quick. It’s right there in the name, after all. A naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 making 789 horsepower is enough to propel it to a top speed of 211 mph, according to the Italian manufacturer. When put to the test on a strip Germany’s unrestricted autobahn, it lives up to its namesake.
The AutoTopNL YouTube channel, known for its autobahn top speed run tests, got a chance to spend some time behind the wheel of an 812 Superfast painted in a stunning shade of blue. After a few encounters with traffic, the driver was able to max the car out at 331 kilometers per hour, or just over 205 mph. The car’s lack of muffling turbochargers means it also sounds great doing it, that V-12 able to rev all the way to 9000 rpm.
Judging by the speed at which the 812 was able to reach 205 mph, it likely had more to go. It was nowhere near redline, and the driver was still accelerating at a decent clip when he let off the throttle.
We’re curious to see just how fast the Superfast could go flat out, if given enough room. Something tells us 211 mph might be a conservative estimate.
