There are a lot of residential mounting and racking products on the market, and no manufacturer provides more possibilities than SunModo. From residential rooftops to large-scale ground-mounts and everything in between, SunModo has the most comprehensive solar mounting and racking solutions. Choosing among them can be daunting.  For example, on residential shingle roofs, there is the innovative new patented NanoMount and the more conventionl SoloFlash. Why choose one over the other? This could depend on the application or your personal preferences.

NanoMount®

Damaging roof shingles used to be one of a solar installers’ worst challenges. SunModo’s newest patented NanoMount® eliminates the need to lift shingles and dramatically reduces the installation time.

The mount is made of aesthetically pleasing unibody aluminum cast construction and then powder coated for added protection against oxidation.

The NanoMount® has an Integrated Ultra Soft Weather Sealing gasket that covers the entire bottom of the mount and is recessed to ensure proper compression. The Ultra Soft material conforms to uneven roof surfaces. There are no pre-punched holes, so the giant gasket seals around the screws to to achieve superior leak protection on roof surfaces.  Pre-assembled sealing washers come with either lag bolt or decking screws to prevent water penetration from above.

NanoMount has the flexibility to cover a wide range of scenarios and preferences with its verstile base that can be used for either rafter or deck mounting.

The patented mount is High-Velocity Hurricane Zone Approved – Passed TAS 100 (a) WindDriven Rain Test.

NanoMount Benefits

  • The fastest attachment solution on the market
  • Versatile mounting options including direct-to-decking.
  • Eliminates the need to lift shingles and prevents damage to shingles.
  • All materials are compatible with asphalt shingles and single-ply roof membranes.

Preventing damage to shingles is a big key, and NanoMount does not require disturbing any shingles. With NanoMount, there is no need to pop nails and damage shingles to slide flashing. This means no breaking of brittle shingles during cold weather installs or tearing of soft shingles on hot days.

A point of emphasis is that all materials are compatible with composite shingle. The high performance Neoprene gasket has a good balance of properties including a good resistance to chemicals, water, sunlight, and oxidation.

The open L foot has a 360-degree positioning and serrated surfaces on both sides for fast rail mounting. The cone shaped flashing design diverts water from the roof penetration. A stamped emboss feature stiffens the flashing to minimize the bending. Alignment markers enable easy instllation.

Both NanoMount and SoloFlash are High-Velocity Hurricane Zone Approved, passing the TAS 100 (a) Wind-Driven Rain Test.

Summary
