NEXCOM’s entry-level NDiS B337 slim computer has a unique blend of carefully chosen features for semi-outdoor smart city and smart edge applications. Leveraging the low power consumption of the Intel® J3455 Celeron® CPU, the NDiS B337 wide temperature computer can handle -20 to 60°C, and with its slimline design of only 40mm is compact enough for space-constrained environments like factory automation, surveillance, retail, and smart city.

NDiS B337 Slim Fanless Computer Ushers in High Performance and Low Power for Smart City Application

High performance, low power consumption
At the heart of the NDiS B337 industrial fanless computer is the Intel® J3455 Celeron® CPU, with a 10W TDP that allows fanless operation with minimum power consumption in an extended temperature range from -20 – 60°C. The NDiS B337 has 2 x HDMI 1.4 ports for multi-display support on up to two separate displays, supports 1 x DDR3L up to 8GB, 1 x DDR3L up to 8G, 1 x M.2 2242 slot for a storage module, and a mini-PCIe slot for a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/LTE wireless module (SIM card slot on mainboard).

Features and functions suited for the smart city
The NDiS B337 and NDiS B337-4C have features particularly suited to integration in various smart city applications. They both support 12 VDC power input, making them highly adaptable to common power supplies in integrations where DC power is most often used. The power button plug further helps with this so when integrated into another system the power can still be turned on easily without opening the enclosure to access the computer directly. Finally, the NDiS B337-4C provides the extra COM and USB ports (4 x RS-232 and 2 × USB 2.0) that are the primary connection types for triggering mechanical connections like parking gate booms, door locks, and turnstiles.

Sleek design for innovative indoor applications
Indoor applications of many sorts are supported due to the design of the NDiS B337. In the doctor’s office the NDiS B337 can be used as signage in entrance areas or as a computer for supporting telehealth, telemedicine, and virtual consultations. In retail, the NDiS B337 can be used as retail signage or to support a digital price tag system, where the price tags are updated automatically through technology, and automatic stock counting is possible. Finally, the NDiS B337 can work in a self-service post office kiosk, allowing people to package, measure, label, and send their parcels without staff assistance, saving personnel time for more critical tasks.

Build tough enough for outdoor applications
DooH applications are well supported by the NDiS B337, requiring only an enclosure to protect the NDiS B337 from rain, dirt, and direct sunlight. Outdoor signage applications include smart signage that uses facial detection to show relevant information to users, a wayfinding station to provide information on nearby attractions, or the passenger information display at train or bus stations. Parking lots can benefit as the NDiS B337 can perform license plate recognition, display open parking place information, and take payments as the ticketing station. Other applications include a phone charging station, post office parcel station, and access control through facial recognition or access card.

The smart choice for the smart city
For smart city applications ranging from indoors to outdoors, doctors’ offices to parking lots, and post offices to DooH, the NDiS B337 and NDiS B337-4C box PCs are the best choice when reliability and flexibility are the first priority.
